Incorporating a dolmen

The junction of the memory

This little square is located at the crossroads of an important road link in Sardinia and has among others the prerogative to have its three vertices on different elevations with substantial altitude jumps. An idea of the archaeological museum

Even in this case, the basic idea was born using one of the basic elements of the lexicon Architectural, the septum wall. The Roman theater of Marina di Gioiosa

The mountain community of Limington, on the Ionian coast of Calabria, at the suggestion of Professor Lo Curzio put in place procedures to acquire a portion of which is no longer in use the station to Marina di Gioiosa Jonica. This long, narrow strip of land has the privilege of being adjacent to an ancient Roman-era theater, game force was to build a small urban park capable of connecting the train station with this important archaeological site.

Using archeology

Behind the Cathedral of Messina were accidentally unearthed the remains of the ancient basilica of S. James. These ruins are fenced off but the excavation continues to be in the open, languishing for the neglect and abandonment. So why not exploit it, by building lovingly around a structure that incorporates the shrine as a respectful, protects it and makes it become a place of possible use also for tourism through a glass floor suspended from the bridge structures of different thickness in some cases they become functional containers, and that give way to admire its ancient features, too, perhaps over a cup of good coffee.

It was once a fort

The Navy needed to fix one of the premises of an old fort in the rock near Rome and convert it to room service for electronic equipment. The shape of the "cave" as well as the functional necessity of dividing the local stations suggested the construction of a series of ribs in wood that besides constituting the backbone of the furniture, also functioned as a divider for the stays. The "belly of the whale" is thus the spatial reference, visual, as well as the resulting conceptual.

Just outside Lamezia Terme, next to a freeway, you can see an old abandoned structure. the result of a design competition launched by the Municipality of Crotone in 2003 with the purpose to redevelop an area near the center to turn it into a park named after Pythagoras, the great philosopher of antiquity. Even the attempt here is to find the key elements that they could relate better with the adjacent archaeological site and also here the dominant motif didiene the septum. In this case, however, this becomes a representative element, as well as load-bearing system of any eposizioni the park, with an eye back to the sculptures stuck in the land of Mauro Staccioli. The project was ranked in second place.
